Rentalcars.com: how to create links to services in specific cities or airports

The Rentalcars program gives the possibility to create links to send users directly to the pages where the country, city, and/or airport is already chosen in the search form. This way the user will only have to specify the dates and proceed with the booking.

Important! You need to connect to the Rentalcars program in your Travelpayouts account before creating links.

Link creation consists of two steps:

1. Creating a link with all needed parameters manually.

2. Transforming the created link into the affiliate link using the deep link creation form of the Rentalcars program in your Travelpayouts account.

Step 1. Create a link with the needed parameters

First, you need to choose one of the templates below depending on the type of link that you need, and insert the needed values into the template.

Link to a specific country

Link template: https://www.rentalcars.com/language/country/country_code

Link example:  https://www.rentalcars.com/en/country/es

The link includes the following parameters:

  • Language: “/en” in the example link for the English language. You can find all available language codes at the end of this article.
  • Landing page type: “/country” to indicate the category before specifying which country. Don’t change this parameter.
  • Country code: “/es” in the example link for Spain. You can specify the country by its country ISO code. Find the correct code here in the Alpha-2 column.

Insert the needed values in the template.

Link to a specific city

Link template: https://www.rentalcars.com/language/city/country_code/city

Link example: https://www.rentalcars.com/en/city/ie/dublin

The link includes the following parameters:

  • Language: “/en” in the example link for the English language. You can find all available language codes at the end of this article.
  • Landing page type: “/city” to indicate the category before specifying which city. Don’t change this parameter.
  • Country code: “/ie” in the example link for Ireland. You can specify the country by its country ISO code. Find the correct code here in the Alpha-2 column.
  • City: “/dublin” in the example link for Dublin. You can specify the exact city (this works also by translating the city name into other languages).

Insert the needed values in the template.

Link to a specific airport

Link template: https://www.rentalcars.com/language/airport/country_code/airport

Link example: https://www.rentalcars.com/en/airport/gb/man

The link includes the following parameters:

  • Language: “/en” in the example link for the English language. You can find all available language codes at the end of this article.
  • Landing page type: “/airport” to indicate the category before specifying which airport. Don’t change this parameter.
  • Country code: “/gb” in the example link for the UK. You can specify the country by its country ISO code. Find the correct code here in the Alpha-2 column.
  • Airport: “/man” in the example link for Manchester. Insert here the exact IATA code of the airport.

Insert the needed values in the template.

Step 2. Create an affiliate link

1. Copy created link, and paste it into the Target URL field on the Links section of the Rentalcars Tools tab.

2. Copy the final link from the Deep link field and place it on your website, blog or another resource.

Done! Now readers will go straight to the needed page. You will receive rewards for all bookings made through your affiliate link!
