This article provides the information about reasons for revenue changes on an account balance.
A booking was canceled
Travel brands do not pay rewards for canceled bookings.
If a customer cancels a booking, the earnings for this booking are deducted from your account balance. This rule also applies to bookings made in previous months.
For example, a customer booked a flight ticket through your affiliate link in January. The earnings for this booking were added to your balance and paid out in February. In April, the customer canceled the booking. In this case, the previously added earnings are deducted from your current balance in April.
A customer received a partial refund
If a customer receives a partial refund for a booking, the earnings for this booking may decrease.
For example, a customer booked two tickets through your affiliate link, and the booking brought you USD 10 in earnings. Later, one of the tickets was refunded. In this case, the earnings for this booking may be reduced, and your account balance will change.
A brand or agency corrected booking data
Sometimes travel brands or agencies review booking data and find discrepancies. During this reconciliation process, they may correct:
- the booking status
- the booking amount
- the earnings amount
If the earnings amount is corrected, your account balance may increase or decrease.
