FAQ on the closure of Hotellook

General questions

When was the Hotellook affiliate program shut down?

The program was closed on October 20, 2025.

Why was the Hotellook program shut down?

Hotellook is completely discontinuing as a brand. For this reason, the affiliate program on Travelpayouts is also closed.

Will I receive earnings for all bookings made before the shutdown?

Yes. All bookings made before October 20, 2025 were tracked and paid. This includes any reservations that are not confirmed yet at the moment of closure.

Example:

  • A user books a hotel on October 10, with a stay in November. Even though the Hotellook brand will be shut down, this booking will be processed, and you will receive your full earnings.
  • If the booking is canceled by the user, it will not be paid — this logic remains unchanged.

So you won’t lose any income from orders placed before the program’s closure.

What happens to bookings that are still in “Pending” status at the time of closure?

These bookings continue to be processed. Earnings are be credited to your balance in your Travelpayouts account once the booking is confirmed.

What happened to Hotellook tools (widgets, links) after October 20, 2025?

In short:

  • Affiliate links that have consistently generated revenue automatically redirect users to the Booking.com hotel search page, branded with the Hotellook logo. All other links stopped working and lead to an error page.
  • Widgets, landing pages, and the Hotellook API stopped working.
  • On the old version of White Label Web, the “Hotels” tab disappeared.
  • White Label App and SDK were released in a new version without the “Hotels” tab.

More details about each tool are provided below.

Do Hotellook tools automatically redirect to other brands?

  • Yes, but only for the links that have consistently generated revenue before October, 2025. Those automatically redirect users to the Booking.com hotel search page. Statistics remains available in your Hotellook program dashboard.
  • Hotellook widgets stopped working, so we recommend replacing them with widgets from other brands in the Hotels & Accommodation category from the Travelpayouts catalog.
  • Hotel search in the old White Label Web and in White Label App/SDK no longer work — you’ll need to replace these solutions, for example by using hotel widgets on White Label Web or one of the extra tabs in White Label App.

What happened to statistics?

  • If you are among the partners whose Hotellook links continued to function under the new logic, your statistics remained available. All bookings made before the shutdown date are displayed in your dashboard under the Hotellook program. You also continue to see data on clicks and bookings generated through those links.
  • If you had no earnings from Hotellook in 2025 or your links are not included in the supported list, those links stopped working and led to an error page. In this case, statistics for them is no longer displayed after the program shuts down.

All historical data and bookings made before October 20, 2025 is preserved and remains available in reports.

What alternative programs can I use instead of Hotellook?

We recommend exploring other programs in the Hotels & Accommodation category on Travelpayouts.

For White Label Web partners

How did Hotellook shutdown affect White Label Web?

Starting October 20, 2025, the hotel search tab disappeared from the old version of White Label Web, and only the flight search remained active.

  • If you already have both tabs enabled, or only flights, you don’t need to do anything.
  • If you only use the hotel tab, we recommend updating your White Label settings.

Also, the Hotellook search form stopped working. If your search form was configured to lead to your White Label, it also stopped functioning.

Do I need to change anything if I only have the “Flights” tab?

No. Your White Label continues working, and the Hotellook shutdown did not affect your flight search.

What if I only had the “Hotels” tab?

We suggest exploring brand search widgets from the Hotels & Accommodation section on the Travelpayouts platform and considering integrating them into your website.

For White Label App and SDK partners

What changed in White Label App and SDK after Hotellook was disabled?

On September 22, 2025, a new version of White Label App was released without the “Hotels” tab. If you created a hotel search tab using the SDK, this functionality stopped working — the tab remained but is empty.

  • We recommend updating your White Label App.

  • In SDK-based apps, you need to disable the /Hotels module to hide the non-functioning feature.

When the the updated version without the Hotels tab was released?

On September 22, 2025, a new version of White Label App and SDK was be released without the hotel search option. After updating, the Hotels tab disappeared.

To continue earning with Hotellook until the program shuts down, do not update the app before October 20, 2025.

What alternatives exist to keep hotel search in the app?

  • In the White Label App, you can use one of the two additional tabs with a WebView. This allows you to add an affiliate link to a hotel brand. When users click on the tab, they will see the brand’s page displayed inside your app.

  • Alternatively, you can set up a WebView in your own app with SDK using your mobile development skills.

With this approach, you can keep a “Hotels” tab in your app, so users can continue searching for accommodation, while you still receive rewards for bookings made through your affiliate link.

Important! Select brands from the Hotels & Accommodation category on the Travelpayouts platform that allow Travel business apps as a type of promotion. You can find this information at the bottom of the program page.

For Travel App partners

What did happen to the “Hotels” tab in the Travel App after Hotellook shut down?

From October 20, 2025, users trying to search in the Hotels tab started to see a connection error. The search is not working, since Hotellook is be completely disabled.

Can I update and republish the Travel App after disabling the Hotels tab?

You can manually disable the Hotels tab in the app using this code:

class App : TravelApp() {

    override val config: Config = Config(

        tabs = setOf(

            Tab.Flights,

            // Tab.Hotels,

            Tab.AppInfo

        )

    )

However, we cannot guarantee that the app can be republished. Starting in 2025, Google requires targetSdk 35, while the template app is fixed at 33. Raising targetSdk is not possible without major development work, since the project has not been maintained for a long time.

What alternative solutions exist for integrating hotel search into apps?

We recommend:

  • White Label App — allows you to create your own app with flight search and add extra WebView tabs with hotel brand websites.
  • SDK — allows you to integrate airline tickets search functionality into an existing app.

Both are more modern and supported solutions, offering more flexibility compared to Travel App.

For Hotellook API partners

What happened to the Hotellook API after October 20, 2025?

The Hotellook API was be fully disabled. From that date, any requests stopped returning data and instead return an error.

What alternative APIs can I use to replace Hotellook functionality?

Unfortunately, at this moment no other hotel brand offers API to Travelpayouts partners, but we will let you know as soon as we have updates.

In the meantime you can check brands from other categories that have APIs in the following article: Brands that provide access to APIs and data feeds for Travelpayouts partners.

The booking statistics remain available after the shutdown?

Yes. Even though the API is disabled, all booking statistics remains in your Travelpayouts dashboard. You’ll be able to view booking history even after the service is no longer active.

Other questions

What happened to Hotellook landing pages?

All Hotellook landing pages are disabled. After October 20, links to such landing pages stopped working.

I used the Hotellook WordPress plugin. What should I know

The Travelpayouts WordPress plugin was updated, and in the new version the option to embed Hotellook tools is removed. After October 20, 2025:

  • All Hotellook widgets and tables placed on your site stopped working and no longer display results.
  • Affiliate Hotelook links that have consistently generated revenue automatically redirect users to the Booking.com hotel search page, branded with the Hotellook logo. All other links stopped working and lead to an error page.

To maintain functionality on your site and ensure users can still search hotels, we recommend replacing disabled tools with widgets or links from other programs in the Hotels & Accommodation category on Travelpayouts. This way, you’ll avoid “empty spots” on your site and keep earning rewards from bookings.

There is a “Show hotels” checkbox under my flight search form.

The checkbox remains and continues working exactly as it does now.
