Why some Aviasales bookings status changed to “Pending”

Due to the unstable situation affecting air travel in the Middle East, revenue from some Aviasales bookings has been temporarily moved from Paid to Pending.

This is a temporary measure that helps us correctly account for possible flight cancellations, which have increased because of the regional conflict.

Which bookings are affected

This change applies to flight bookings that involve the following countries:

  • departures from these countries
  • arrivals to these countries
  • connections in airports located in these countries

The affected destinations include:

  • Iran
  • Iraq
  • Israel
  • Jordan
  • Lebanon
  • Bahrain
  • Kuwait
  • Qatar
  • UAE
  • Oman
  • Saudi Arabia

If the departure and/or arrival date for such bookings is March or later, their status may temporarily appear as Pending.

Why the status was changed

Due to the conflict, the number of canceled and rescheduled flights has significantly increased. Because of this, it is currently difficult to predict whether a flight will take place as planned.

To avoid payouts for flights that may later be canceled, these bookings are temporarily moved to Pending until their final status is confirmed.

This measure helps prevent distorted statistics and negative balance adjustments if a flight is eventually canceled.

Where to find these bookings

You can view them in the Reports - Bookings section of your account.

You can also open the list of bookings with the Pending status directly here:
https://app.travelpayouts.com/statistics/actions?action_state=processing

When the status will be updated

We will update the status of these bookings before payouts for the previous month, after receiving the final statistics from Aviasales.

For example, in April we will update bookings with departures in March. If the situation stabilizes, statuses for later departures may be updated earlier.

After verification, each booking will receive a final status:

  • Paid — if the flight took place
  • Canceled — if the booking was canceled
