How to install Drive on your website
  1. Open the Drive page in your Travelpayouts account.
  2. Select the Project where you want to use Drive at the top bar.
  3. Click Unlock Drive.
Note: Drive is only available for websites.
  4. There are several ways to install Drive. Choose one of them and follow the instructions below.

For WordPress users

If you’re using WordPress, install a plugin like Header & Footer or WPCode to easily add script code to your website. Here you can find more detailed instructions:

Header & Footer

  1. Open your website’s WordPress admin dashboard. In the left pane, click Plugins, and then click Add New.
  2. Type "Head & Footer Code" in the search field.
  3. Find the right plugin (same as in the picture below) and click the Install Now button. This plugin will help you apply Drive to every page of your blog.
  4. Once the installation is completed, click Activate.
  5. Next, you will be brought to the list of Installed plugins. Find "Head & Footer Code" in the list and open its Settings.
  6. Return to the Drive installation tab in your Travelpayouts account and copy the Drive code.

Note that the code is unique for each Project. If you are planning to use Drive in multiple Projects, you need to copy code for each of them separately.
  7. Paste the code in the Head & Footer plugin in the HEAD Code section. If you are already using other scripts, make sure the Drive code is placed first, above all others. This way, it will load faster, and all tools will instantly appear on your website.
  8. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save changes.
  9. If you are using the WP Rocket plugin, make sure to add Drive code to the list of exceptions by following these guidelines.
  10. Clear the cache of your website to get Drive working.
  11. Return to your Travelpayouts account and click I’ve pasted the code. We will check your website quickly to confirm installation.
  12. We will show an installation status message:

    • Drive code installed successfully — the installation was successful, and Drive has started working on your website.
    • We couldn’t verify Drive installation — the code may have been copied incorrectly or placed in the wrong tag. Please remove the previously added code and repeat the installation.

If the check still shows an error after reinstalling the code, please contact support.

WP Rocket plugin: How to add the script to all JS optimizations

If you are using the WP Rocket plugin, you need to add Drive to the list of exceptions. We have added detailed instructions below. If you are using any other plugins that cache js-scripts, please contact our support team.

Note: On March 25, 2026, special attributes were added to the Drive code: nowprocket, seraph-accel-crit="1", and data-no-defer="1". If the Drive script was copied and installed on March 25 or later, and you use one of the following plugins, you no longer need to add it to the exceptions: WP Rocket, Seraphinite Accelerator, FlyingPress, or Flying Scripts.

  1. Open the WP Rocket plugin settings.
  2. Navigate to the File Optimization tab.
  3. If in the Javascript Files section, you don’t have any checkboxes active,  you don’t need to do anything. If you have active checkboxes, please continue with the next point number 4.
  4. Return to the Drive code in your Travelpayouts account. To do this you should open Tools - Drive - Advanced settings - Drive status in the bottom left corner.
  5.  You only need to take the domain from the code. You can find it here:
  6. Insert the domain from the code into all Excluded JavaScript Files fields in the JavaScript Files section of the WP Rocket plugin:

  7. Click Save changes at the bottom of the page.

For users with access to the source code (manual installation)

  1. Select Manual installation on the Drive installation tab:
  2. Copy the Drive code.

Note that the code is unique for each Project. If you are planning to use Drive on multiple websites, you need to copy code for each of them separately.
  3. Add the code in the tag ‘<head>’ in the code editor of your website. If you are already using other scripts, make sure the Drive code is placed first, above all others. This way, it will load faster, and all tools will instantly appear on your website.
  4. Return to your Travelpayouts account and click I’ve pasted the code. We will check your website quickly to confirm installation.

If the check still shows an error after reinstalling the code, please contact support.

For Google Tag Manager users

Using Google Tag Manager (GTM) is an advanced method for implementing scripts and codes on a website. This approach is helpful for managing multiple scripts through a single interface, but it comes with certain nuances, such as the risk of being blocked by ad blockers and the potential slowing of page load times. We recommend using this method only if you are already familiar with GTM.

Before you can proceed with the installation, ensure that you have a Google Tag Manager account and have created a Tag Manager container in it. Follow the instructions in the official Google documentation to set them up.

  1. Make sure you have a Google Tag Manager account and a container created for your website. If you don’t have these set up yet, follow the instructions in the official Google documentation to complete these steps.
  2. Install a created Google Tag Manager container on the website where you plan to use Drive. Use the instructions described here.
  3. Open the created Tag Manager container and add a new tag. For more instructions, check Google documentation.
  4. Select Custom HTML as the tag type.
  5. Return to your Travelpayouts account and select Manual installation on the Drive installation tab:
  6. Copy the Drive code.

Note that the code is unique for each Project. If you are planning to use Drive on multiple websites, you need to copy code for each of them separately.
  7. Paste the code in the HTML field of the New tag form. If you are already using other scripts, make sure the Drive code is placed first, above all others. This way, it will load faster, and all tools will instantly appear on your website.
  8. Select All Pages in the Triggers section of the Tag.
  9. Click Save to complete the set up of the Tag.
  10. Click Submit in the upper-right corner to publish the changes made in your Google Tag Manager. This step is crucial.
  11. In the window that opens, specify the version name (e.g., "Travelpayouts Drive"). Click Publish to apply settings to your website.
  12. Return to your Travelpayouts account and click I’ve pasted the code. We will check your website quickly to confirm installation.

After installation

After installation Drive will start working on your website. You will also get access to Drive settings. Learn more in the Drive settings article.

I already installed Drive on one website, how can I install it on another one?

If you have already installed Drive on one of your projects and now want to use Drive on another website, please keep the following in mind:

  • Drive code is unique for each website, which means you cannot copy the same code you have already used. You need to open the Drive page in your Travelpayouts account and select the Project you created for the URL of the new website.
  • Repeat installation steps and click I’ve pasted the code.
