This post explains why you need Projects as well as how to add and manage them.
A Project in Travelpayouts is a channel you use to promote travel brands and earn through affiliate programs.
Projects help understand your traffic source and check whether it meets brand’s terms and conditions.
What counts as a Project?
A Project can be any traffic source you own, for example:
- A website or blog
- A social media account (e.g., Instagram, YouTube)
- An email newsletter
- Promo code distribution
- A travel agency website
One Project = one channel.
If you use multiple channels (e.g., a website and Instagram), create a separate Project for each.
How to create a Project
When you sign up for Travelpayouts, your first Project is created automatically based on your onboarding data.
Here’s how to create additional Projects:
- Open your Travelpayouts account
-
Click the three dots in the bottom-left corner → My Projects.
-
Click Create Project.
-
Add the URL and click Create Project. Make sure to enter a valid URL (it can’t be edited later after connecting to programs).
If you work with email newsletters, select the corresponding option:
- Done! Your Project will be automatically connected to all available travel brands on the platform.
You need to create a separate project for each channel. For example, if you have a website and an Instagram account, you will need to create two separate Projects, one for each channel.
We do this because some brands have strict rules regarding channels. By ensuring that each project contains only one channel, we make the process easier to check and approve.
How to delete a Project
If you no longer use a Project, you can archive it:
- Open the Project settings
-
Click Archive
The Project will be hidden from your account and statistics, and will also be disconnected from all programs.
