This section describes how to take a screenshot using the built-in tools in Mac OS and Windows when you need contact Travelpayouts support.
Mac OS X
Mac offers several options for taking screenshots. We've outlined a method below that will capture the entire browser window and JavaScript console.
To take a screenshot of the entire window on Mac OS:
- Make sure that the browser window is fully open and all the necessary information is displayed.
- Press Shift-Command-4. The cursor will turn into a crosshair.
- Press the spacebar. The cursor will turn into a camera.
- Move the camera cursor to the desired window (highlighted in translucent blue).
- Click with the mouse or trackpad. To cancel, press Esc before clicking.
- Find the screenshot (saved as a png file) on your desktop.
Windows
Windows allows you to take screenshots using hot keys or the Scissors application. Images are copied to the clipboard, after which you insert the image into the graphic editor and then save it.
To take and save a screenshot using the keyboard on Windows:
- Make sure that the browser window is fully open and all the necessary information is displayed.
- Click on the title bar of the window you want to capture.
- Press Alt + PrtScn. The screenshot of the active window will be saved to the default folder. A pop-up window should appear in the lower-right corner of the screen indicating where the file is saved.
- If the window doesn’t appear, open the Paint editor, right-click on it and select Paste from the menu. Then save the document.
Additional Information
When you take a screenshot, make sure that it displays basic information about the website, namely:
- URL of the webpage you're accessing, which is located at the top of the browser window;
- the website itself;
- any errors that appear in the JavaScript console (displayed in red).
