QR code with an affiliate link

At Travelpayouts, you can create a QR code for your affiliate link, directing the audience to any page of a travel brand’s website (so-called a deep link). These QR codes will take the audience to a specific flight, hotel, or other product offered by this brand.

How to generate a QR code

  1. Open the Tools page in your Travelpayouts account.
  2. You will see the list of all Projects that you have created at the top and available tools below.
  3. Select the Project where you want to place the links or create a new one.
  4. Open the travel brand's website using the drop-down list and go to the needed page (for example, a page with search results for a required destination), and copy the URL of the page.
  5. Paste it into the Destination page field.
  6. You can optionally specify SubID to be able to find bookings made using the link in the statistics.
  7. Click Generate link & QR code.
  8. Your ready short link will appear at the top of the Your links section.
  9. Click the QR code button to download a QR code with your affiliate link.

How to create a QR code via the Create link menu

You can quickly create a QR code with a link to any page of the travel brand's website using the Create link menu at the top right corner of your Travelpayouts account:

The menu is accessible from any page of your account.

  1. Select a needed Project.
  2. Select the brand’s program that you would like to generate a link for.
  3. Go to the travel brand's website, open any needed page (for example, a page with search results for a required destination), and copy the URL of the page.
  4. Paste the link into the Link field. 
  5. You can optionally specify SubID. 
  6. Click the QR code button and download the QR code.
  7. Embed the QR code in your video or any other format.

How to track QR code statistics

To track how many bookings were made using your QR codes, use a Sub ID when generating a QR code. This will help you filter and analyze statistics in your Travelpayouts account.

How to Add a Sub ID

  1. Before downloading the QR code, enter any value in the Sub ID field. Use a descriptive text value to make filtering reports easier, for example, “youtubeQR”.
  2. Once the Sub ID is set, download the QR code and place it wherever needed.

How to Check Statistics

  1. Go to your Travelpayouts account and open the reports section.
  2. Enter the previously created Sub ID in the Sub ID field to see statistics specific to that QR code.
  3. You can also use the Group by Sub ID filter. This will split your report into separate lines for each Sub ID, including its description.
