QR code with an affiliate link

At Travelpayouts, you can create a QR code for your affiliate link, directing the audience to any page of a travel brand’s website (so-called a deep link). These QR codes will take the audience to a specific flight, hotel, or other product offered by this brand. 

Where to use QR codes

  • Videos – Add QR codes to YouTube videos, Instagram Reels, and TikToks for instant engagement.
  • Social media posts & stories – Share QR codes on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter to drive traffic.
  • Blogs & websites – Place QR codes in blog posts, sidebars, and landing pages for seamless mobile access.
  • Messengers – Send QR codes in WhatsApp or Telegram for quick access.
  • Email newsletters – Include QR codes in promotional emails.
  • Webinars & online courses – Display QR codes in slides or on-screen.
  • Live streams – Show QR codes in YouTube, Twitch, or Instagram Live for real-time conversions.

How to generate a QR code

Note! To create a QR code in your Travelpayouta account, you first need to connect to this brand’s partner program. 

1. Open a program's page and navigate to the Tools tab.

2. Click on the Links section. 

3. Click the QR code button in the created link section.

Note! There is a limited number of programs that don’t support link creation. For these programs, you can only use ready-made links.

4. Go to the travel brand's website, open any needed page (for example, a page with search results for a specific destination), and copy the URL of the page.

Make sure to copy the link to the brand's website only from the address bar of your browser.

5. Paste the link into the Target URL field.

6. If more than one of your Projects is connected to the program, you can select the Project you need in the My Project drop-down list. You can also add a SubID (optional).

7. Download the QR code and place it in your channel.

Note! You can only create 50 short affiliate links and QR codes per hour. If the limit is exceeded, you will see a warning and will need to wait 1 hour to create your links/OR codes again.

How to create a QR code via the Create link menu

You can quickly create a QR code with a link to any page of the travel brand's website using the Create link menu at the top right corner of your Travelpayouts account:

The menu is accessible from any page of your account.

To generate a QR code, simply repeat the steps described in the first part of this guide.

How to track QR code statistics

To track how many bookings were made using your QR codes, use a Sub ID when generating a QR code. This will help you filter and analyze statistics in your Travelpayouts account.

How to Add a Sub ID

  1. Before downloading the QR code, enter any value in the Sub ID field. Use a descriptive text value to make filtering reports easier, for example, “youtubeQR”.
  2. Download the QR Code – Once the Sub ID is set, download the QR code and place it wherever needed.

How to Check Statistics

  1. Go to your Travelpayouts account and open the reports section.
  2. Enter the previously created Sub ID in the Sub ID field to see statistics specific to that QR code.
  3. You can also use the Group by Sub ID filter. This will split your report into separate lines for each Sub ID, including its description.
